April:

Loves Red N Ready "Robin" is a five year old registered AQHA mare.

She's came to us about 14.3h, true red dun, underweight, and untrusting of anything that moves too fast or wants to attempt to touch her without her written, pre-screened invitation.

Robin did not have much human contact until her 4yo year and is not quite halter broke and not very catchable now as a 5yo. But with her AQHA papers, a kind ey...

I was selected as a competitor in a NEW training challenge here in Kentucky! The Race to Repurpose Training Challenge put on by

Equine Allies Inc.

What is the Race to Repurpose

"WHERE DEVOTED EQUESTRIANS COME TOGETHER TO PROVE THEIR ABILITIES WHILE GIVING RESCUED AND REPURPOSED HORSES THE SECOND CHANCE THEY DESERVE.

I am writing this post to introduce an opportunity for interested parties and individuals to help us fund the recovery of rescued equines that come to our farm, Snitker Ranch.

Midnight Sky is an example of a horse that has come to us in need. Sky is a beautiful, 3 year old, 16.3h, off the track Thoroughbred filly. She was rescued by Second Stride in Kentucky and sent to us, a failed racehorse who needed a soft place to l...

What an incredible horse.

Jazz embodies the versatility of the Thoroughbred racehorse. He not only has the looks with his dark points and dappled coat that draws everyone's eye... but he has the brains and the desire to do anything he puts his mind to.

It was a whirlwind of a year with Jazz. This sweet horse came to us with a horribly locking stifle. This means his knee would lock completely causing him to be unable to m...

The training process is always different for every trainer, rider, and horse. This is because no two horses can be trained exactly the same way. This is one of the things that is so intriguing and exhilarating about working with horses.

Training is always a process, but it is never exactly the same process. What gets to the mind of a lazy, out of practice, Quarter Horse might not have the same effect on a reacti...

Jazz is now in Iowa! We officially moved to our temporary location at the Snitker Dairy Farm in northeast Iowa at the end of January. Jazz is now resting easy at his new facility which includes his own snowy 7 acre pasture with a big, warm run-in shed where he can be out of the prevalent snow and ice. We are thankful to have full access to a lovely indoor arena and are excited to have a place to train indoors, away from...

January 13, 2017

Jazz has been thoroughly enjoying the mild Kentucky winter. Mid-January temperatures have been wavering between 50 and 65 degrees. The rain and mud that comes along with this is not quite as pleasing for the training process.

This boy's diet consists of a high protein grain twice a day as he transitions from his high energy, high volume grain from the track. He is filling out, gaining fat and topline, with his grain and...

Wrap the Jazz is a dapple grey, 4 year old, 15.2hh, Thoroughbred gelding.

Pedigree: Come On Jazz - Wrapper, by Capote

I had the pleasure of purchasing this beautiful gelding at Turfway Racetrack.

His career as a track horse consists of 13 starts including two 3rd place finishes and $3,440 in career earnings. He has raced at Turfway, Ellis Park, and Belterra Park and preformed best running on turf tracks.

Jazz arrived a...
